Comedy Course for Beginners is Liverpool's original stand-up comedy course.

Since 2002 the course has produced hundreds of graduates with many going on to pursue careers in the industry. The course is delivered by one of the UK comedy circuit’s finest professional comedians. Brendan Riley is an established comedian on the national and international circuit who perform regularly at all the major clubs and festivals in the UK and abroad. With over 13 years of experience he can share his industry secrets and help guide you towards a career in Stand Up comedy. Over the six weeks the course will teach you the skills required to perform a comedy routine of your own culminating in a live performance in front of family and friends on the stage.

Where does it take place?

Sessions are held at the Quaker Meeting House located on Hanover Street next to BBC Radio Merseyside within the heart of Liverpool. The final showcase will take place at the newly renovated arts and events venue in Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre.

"I cannot recommend the stand up course for beginners enough . For a minimum commitment of time, you get a fantastic introduction to stand up in a friendly environment with brilliant support . The people on my course came from a wide range of  backgrounds and everyone gained massively in confidence over the course . If you've ever even vaguely thought about doing comedy, you have to do this course."
