FEELING FUNNY Parents
Open to: Parents
When: Please note we are currently raising funds to launch a new round of dates for our Feeling Funny parents project.
Laughter is the best medicine or at least that’s what they say!
The Feeling Funny Parents programme is set to reach its fourth year in 2022. Our programme of activities aims to address and highlight some of the issues affecting parents and parents-to-be who have experienced perinatal/postnatal depression &/or anxiety, or who might be at risk of experiencing it in the future.
So what does the programme aim to achieve?
We use humour and laughter in a sensitive and supportive way our programme aims to:
Improve your confidence and overall mental well being
Help you recognise they aren't alone in what they are going, or have gone through
Empower parents to speak more openly about some of the issues they have experienced
Help parents to combat self-discrimination and discrimination and stigma surrounding perinatal mental illness

New dates for 2022 / 2023 tbc
Please note that the team are working hard to secure funds to promote new dates for our Feeling Funny Parents project.
Our programme consists of three exciting elements including:
Well Funny sessions: These fun and interactive sessions use comedy as a tool to combat stress and any anxious feelings mums and mums to be are experiencing.
Laughter and Wellbeing Drop In Group: A drop-in group that is open to mums who may be at risk of poor mental health, low mood, anxiety and stress. Join us for a fun, relaxed and giggle worthy time every second and fourth Wednesday of the month!
7 Week Stand-Up Comedy Course: Ever wanted to try your hand at stand up comedy? Over 7 weeks our supportive group teaches you all the skills of how to put together your very own stand-up comedy routine. Intrigued? Well come and join us on our unique stand up comedy programme!
FEELING FUNNY MUMS IN LOCKDOWN
We would like to thank the PH Holt Foundation for supporting our existing Feeling Funny Mums group throughout the COVID-19 Lockdown. Funding received during this time has enabled us to provide integral support for vulnerable mothers and mothers to be through online Zoom sessions, creation of online content and online groups offering socialisation, creative prompts and self-care advice.
